Anse aux Meadows, L': Anse aux Meadows, L'

[englisch læns əʊ 'medəʊz], Fischerdorf an der Nordspitze der Insel Neufundland, Kanada. Nahebei entdeckte der Norweger H. Ingstad 1960 den bisher einzigen Wohnplatz von Wikingern in Amerika (außerhalb von Grönland). Ausgegraben wurden 1961-64 Reste von Häusern und einer Schmiede aus der Zeit um 1000. Die älteste von Europäern bewohnte Niederlassung in Amerika (möglicherweise von L. Eriksson gegründet) ist heute rekonstruiert (Museum).
